Automation Replacing Manual

Emerging Trend:
One of the emerging trends nowadays is replacing employees with automation.

An example would be automated check-in counters.

This automated check in counter which is very similar to ATM banking machines are being used at Sheraton Boston Hotel in America.

Team's Vision

In 2010, there could actually be mass production of these type of machines to replace receptionists.
An idea of it would be walking into a hotel and a row of these machines would embrace you and guide you through check-in. Instead of many staffs serving at the counter, there would be just 1 or 2 staff there to help with any technical inquiries and problems.

Other machines can also be used in different departments as well.

This robot can be used in the Food and Beverage department to cook appetizers and also double as entertainment for guests while their main dish is being cooked with more effort and sincerity by chefs.

This robot can be used to entertain the guests while waiting for their food.

This is another example of an automated receptionist. Only that this one is more realistic with a human form.

All these are not in the commercial market yet.

All these robot technology can be anticipated to be used in the hospitality industry in 2020.
